- Average BI-Monthly water bill was $2.58. Serving a Population of 7,900 people.
Currently:
- 16,503 Water Connections
- 248 Miles of Water Main
- 13 Water Tanks, with a total storage capacity of 26,000,000 gallons of water.
- 31 Wells.
- 3 Elected Commissioners.
- Average BI-Monthly water bill is $22.50 based on 1500ccf.
- Serving a population of 61,000 people/whole sale customers.
- Supply water to Summit Water and Supply Company.
- Created a network of emergency inter-ties with surrounding water companies such as Tacoma City Water, Parkland Light & Water and Steilacoom just to name a few.
Little Known Facts:
- Since our beginning in 1943 there has only been 7 rate increases.
- Lakewood Water District employs 1 person for every 655 connections.
- Our rates are the lowest in the State of Washington for a Utility that services over 15,000 connections.
- Our thirty-year R&R (repair and replacement) program, which began in 1995, will upgrade the older systems in the District for a total of 106 miles of new water mains.
